Expectations

March 20th, 2010

As Christ followers, I am convinced that we should live a life of expectancy! So many times, I find us settling into life’s ruts. We expect little and we’re seldom disappointed. The more I learn about God, the more I find him incomprehensible and mysterious. But this much I know: He delights in surprising us. The prophet Isaiah reminds us all that God is at work and he delights in doing great things!
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
(Isa. 43:19 NIV)
God has been doing “new things” in drab deserts and boring wastelands for centuries. Today, as Christ followers, let us move forward with expectancy and let God delight in surprising us.
